Wonderful, wonderful. I enjoyed it immensely. If only such cures were possible. But, for Sam and Jack anything is possible. An excellent job of covering the recovery stages. particularilly the part where Jack began to realize that he was different. Thanks for not rushing the story. Well told.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your reviews. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. The sequel, "Transitions" is posted on this site as well if you're interested. :)

Frustration and impatience! I was wondering if Jack was ever going to show that he wanted the healing to go faster. He's been so good at waiting and doing what he is told, that it is nice to see him wanting to assert his independence a little more every once in a while.

This story is really starting to warm up, and I don't just mean the cabin!
Introducing kindness, thoughtfulness and selflessness into Jack's mental abilities and processes is a big step. Looking forward to the next chapter for sure!

It is nice to know that Sam is not feeling trapped by this situation. Nicely written.

Again, well done. You must have some experience in this area as you seem highly understanding and sensitive in painting a picture of how Jack was affected by the injury, and reacts to various people. Although I am left feeling sorry for what has been lost - I don't pity Jack - and neither do his friends. Well done!

A wonderful start to your story. Brain injuries are so difficult. Often it is almost like "losing" the person. What a courageous topic.
